Privacy Policy of the Japan Association for Wind Engineering

The Japan Association for Wind Engineering (JAWE) recognizes the importance of members’ personal information and will endeavor to handle such information appropriately from the standpoint of protecting members’ privacy.

Collection of Personal Information

JAWE collects personal information only to the extent necessary to provide and improve services consistent with its purposes and activities. When collecting personal information, JAWE will specify the purposes of collection and use, and as a general rule obtain the individual’s consent before information is provided.

Use and Provision of Personal Information

Personal information collected by JAWE will be used only within the scope necessary to achieve the stated purposes of collection and use.

JAWE will not provide personal information it has collected to third parties except in the following cases:

1. When required by laws and regulations; or
2. When the individual has given consent.

When JAWE publishes a member’s personal information on its website, it will obtain the member’s prior consent, and the published content will be created by the member or will be content approved by the member.

Management of Personal Information

JAWE will take appropriate measures to prevent leakage, destruction, alteration, or loss of personal information it has collected.

Disclosure and Correction of Personal Information

When an individual requests disclosure of their own personal information collected by JAWE, JAWE will disclose it after verifying the requestor’s identity. If the individual requests correction or other modification of their personal information, JAWE will promptly conduct the necessary investigation and based on the results, make the appropriate corrections or changes.

Revisions to the Privacy Policy

JAWE may change this Privacy Policy without prior notice due to amendments to laws and regulations or for other reasons. Any changes will be posted on JAWE’s website.
